Group music therapy sessions are an amazing and cost-effective way of bringing the benefits of music therapy to the most people at one time. Group music therapy encourages communication and social relating through shared music-making as well as offering the opportunity for increasing movement, developing the use of the voice and improving attention and engagement. The numbers in the group varies. We are confident with big groups and facilitating these is our speciality.
Groups usually last from 45 minutes to one hour. For family group work we tend to work in smaller groups offering half sessions because that works well for babies and toddlers!
Individual music therapy is useful for young children exploring language development or at end of life palliative care.
